Daily struggles as a program owner
I don’t think there is a single successful marketer online that ever had any idea about how much work and effort it possibly took to be one of those “successful marketers”. I sometimes wonder why I put myself through the daily beating I take. Truth is, I love it. It’s seems somewhat strange for me when people find out how long I have been doing this, and how far I have been able to go in a years time.
Folks, don’t be mislead. If you want to be successful, you need to work, and you need to work the hardest you have ever worked in your entire life. There have been many many times that I have shut down my computer and wanted to just hang up the towel. And fortunately enough for me I have someone very special in my life that saw something inside of me, and was in no shape or form going to let me stop. When you hear people say I work 18 hrs a day, yah believe it. Because the demand of owning a successful program is not a full time job, it’s a way of life. I work well over 100 hrs a week. It’s the only way.
But you need to understand that I set out shooting for the stars and wasn’t gonna settle for anything less then that. If you want to run a part time program, chances are good you might fail and chances are slim that you will be around long enough to even make a significant amount of money at it. Your chances of quitting your job, forget it. But if you are content with just making a few extra dollars a month online, well then you just have to work smart and effectively. This is usually the case for people who do not have the time or the knowledge to make it. It’s always been a passion of mine to see others succeed, it’s such a great feeling. But as a program owner I see the same common mistakes over and over and over every single day from about 90% of the people. How do I possibly help them?
The only way I can help those people is by running a high quality program. It will reduce their failure rate slightly, but ultimately in the end, it all comes down to whether or not you have what it takes. Listen to those who are successful and most importantly look at things they do on a daily basis and try to figure out why they do it. Marketing techniques are designed to make sales and create action. If you don’t understand those techniques then you are a perfect candidate to fall right in to them.
So I’ll leave this post with this. Pay attention to successful minds. Watch them, follow them, get yourelf in to positions to get answers from them. And most importantly, be unique and be different. You cannot make money without spending it. And yes time is money…. don’t ever forget that.

David:
I’m relatively new to Traffic Taxis and have enjoyed the brief stay to say the least. I’ve been around on-line marketing and marketers for a long time. I won’t profess a secret or some magic that many try to snare you with, but to a fault I am honest about my perceptions.
I don’t know anything about you etc…. I have no personal knowledge etc….so I am not on the “payroll.”
What I will say without equivocation is that you bring a quality to the TE industry (perhaps beyond) that has been lacking of late. It is spelled E.N.E.R.G.Y
As an ex athlete and a sports buff in general, everyone talks about energy. Everyone describes it as “THEE” magical bullet. You touch on hard work (and few around these circles can spell it, let alone do it). To do the work, and to reach those “stars” takes energy and hard work. Without knowing you, you appear to personify this mantra. I got so long winded I’ll probably have to log back into traffic taxis…LOL….
I will certainly see how sustainable your energy is. It is absolutely key and I believe you are on it.
Best of luck,
Tom (of onequartlow.com fame)…well in my mind “fame”….LOL
Wow, what a great comment. That is exactly what I am trying to give to my members. Lift their spirits and bring them in to the light. This is not an easy job and definitely by far one of the hardest things I have ever done.
Since joining Traffic Taxis a few weeks ago, I’ve noticed one thing about you that separates you from the crowd. You’re one of the few admins that actually take the time to send out several emails to keep your members up to date on everything going on at the site. Not many others do that.
There is a lot of work involved in maintaining a successful site, and from what I’ve seen, you’re one of the hardest working admins in the business. Keep up the good work, it’s well worth it.
Christine Senter’s last blog post..This Traffic Exchange is Driven
I was watching a programme the other night about two UK guys (Bear Grylls was one) who decided to go propeller gliding several thousand feet above Everest, something extremely dangerous, challenging and completely against the wishes of their wives/kids/families. It struck me how utterly selfish they were being in trying to attain what had been a dream/ambition for both of them. The engineer’s business almost went down the tubes because of it and he was newly married too so it put a lot of strain on his marriage. Imagine the loss to the children if Bear had died.
That may seem a bit of a tangent but in fact it’s not. It made me realise that in aiming to be a successful internet marketer, we all need to be incredibly selfish too. You have to have that drive, ambition and sheer 100% dedication to achieving your dream and reaching your goals. You have to be prepared to, as you say, put in the hours, get your head around the learning and essentially put life on a back burner until you “make it”. You have to mix with other people who have that success mindset and enthusiasm and stay clear of the nay sayers who just want to knock you down.
I seem to be repeating this rather often to various people lately but in my opinion David you’re one of those people who has those qualities and whom any aspiring marketer can learn from. That’s no flannel, just calling it as I see it and the evidence is there for anyone else who cares to look as well.
Thanks for the help you’ve given me and for always being prepared to give advice when asked. Looking forward to seeing future blog entries.
Louise’s last blog post..Internet Marketing Time Management
Thanks for the kind words Louise and yes I actually saw the show. Bear was the only one who made it. I just hope he doesn’t decide to open a TE. I don’t need him parachuting down on my parade. lol
